Bought this to operate my second garage door. I installed the same model to operate my main garage door and by applying the lessons learned installing Unit #1 I was able to install it in about 10 minutes. Here are the steps I followed. First I found a tall ladder just below the door opener. I took the remote control and directions up the stairs. Although the programming is very simple, there are a few ambiguous statements in the instructions. My opener has a purple "learn" button that corresponds to code 2. The steps to program the remote control are exactly as described in the instructions. However, an important step is incorrectly indicated in the first directions. After pressing the learn button and the code previously entered on the remote, the instructions will prompt you to press the enter button on the remote and you will hear two clicks from the opening device. What you really need to do is HOLD the Enter button on the remote until you hear two clicks, indicating the remote and opener are connected. After completing this step, you can proceed to install the remote control in the desired location. The remote control comes with a stainless steel screw that allows the remote control to be attached to the outer panel of the garage door. All you need is a #2 cross or a suitable drill. Screw the screw into the bezel, slide the remote onto the screw head and press down to snap the remote into place. The unit I installed on garage door #1 has been running for about a year now with no problems. The remote even comes with a 9V DC battery installed.
