I have them on all my tanks. The trick to reading the temperature is to look at the green box. This is the current temperature. The brown box at the top is 1 degree higher and the blue box at the bottom is 1 degree lower. You might see a mix of colors when it comes to numbers, but it's easy and intuitive to understand. It's pretty accurate too. I checked mine with a makeshift pistol and everything was in place. If you need to change his position, no big deal. Just gently remove it and place it where you want it.
