Review on 🏍️ Alpinestars Men's Sektor Street Motorcycle Shoe, Black, 6.5: Optimal Performance for Motorcycle Enthusiasts by Tony Doolittle

Overall a decent shoe - order one size up!

Firstly I have to agree with people who say buy one size up especially if your feet are a little wider than usual. Secondly, I took off a star because I ordered "regular" riding shoes and received "ventilated" riding shoes but decided to keep them. The vent lets through a small amount of air but not a ton (I ride Kawasaki Concours which can make a difference due to the large fairing)! Comfort - They're decently comfortable but can't compare to good running shoes; dress shoes maybe, but flat as riding shoes don't have raised heels! I haven't used the sector for serious walking, like wearing it all day while at work, but they're comfortable enough for all day, 8 to 12 hours; and while walking during breaks/stops at that time. If you find you have room, I think the insole would work great to add extra comfort (I went a full size up but still don't have room for the insole). Wear and tear (general use) - I have. The Sectors only have about 6-8 weeks so I can't say how long they will last but I ride almost every weekend and haven't had any problems so far. They are very easy to put on and take off and easy to lace up. But cleaning them from street dirt is a little more difficult. While it doesn't, the bottom of the shoe offers very good traction on and off the pegs. And they give good "feedback” when shifting gears and braking. Overall, I like the Alpinstar Sector riding shoes. But I think the cost is a bit higher than it should be. If I live with them for a few years without issues, the cost is less of a concern, but I do worry about the sewn-in fabric grommets they use for the laces. as a rule, they do not withstand as intensive use as ordinary lace eyelets. anything. I will reiterate that if your feet are a little wider go up a full size, otherwise half a size up MIGHT be fine. There is no way I would buy a "normal" size! I bought a size 14 - I usually wear a size 13 for everything else - and these Alpinestar shoes still feel snugger than my 13 year old shoes/boots/trainers! And at this point I really haven't noticed any "stretching" in the shoes, so I don't expect them to stretch much if they're very tight (shoe stretching might work, but it doesn't). really stretch out of socks in my experience)! Excellent riding shoes, comfortable shoes except for a little tight.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
