Obviously it was a new product when I bought it as there were no reviews about it. back then, but it had the features I was looking for, so I decided to give it a try. I installed it a little over a month ago and am very happy with how it works. There were three features I particularly wanted: 1) A base that would give you more flexibility as to where you put the screws when mounting it to the wall. 2) Articulating mounts that allow you to either push it against the wall or pull it away from the wall a good 12 inches. Vertical adjustment to raise or lower the TV and left/right tilt adjustment to keep the TV level even if the base is not 100% level. This mount does all three very well and fits our 55 inch TV perfectly. . There are also adjustment screws that allow you to rotate the bottom edge of the TV closer or farther away from the wall, allowing you to tilt the TV down slightly if needed. Made of high-quality, durable metal, the structure is rock solid, yet pivots smoothly to adjust vision. #1 above is especially important because if you've ever done a wall project, you know that shelves are almost never perfectly aligned where you need them. (Note: You must mount it securely to wooden wall studs or similar wooden supports. If you are in doubt about hanging it yourself, consult a professional. Installing this bracket incorrectly may damage your wall and TV.) the bracket has a top and bottom rail that are each about 17" wide, with multiple slots along each rail for screws to go in, you can make it work even if the studs in your wall don't line up right there, where you want it _no_ quick release -- it _is_ not designed to be easy to quickly remove and reattach the TV. Adjust it during installation, then easily tilt your TV left, right, or straight in an instant for easy viewing wherever your furniture is.
