Well assembled, design doesn't suit me

This stand is well designed and easy to install. Also, they have great customer service and answered my installation question the same day. My question was whether the metal plate would fit on my bars (see photo), this seemed wrong to me as the metal bracket has a notch in the middle resulting in a tight contact point with my metal bars. The rack also includes nice rubberized clamp mounts that attach to the underside of my crossbars. Those rubber coated brackets had me wondering if I installed the rack correctly as the metal at the top of my rails is sure to scratch them while the nice rubber coated brackets won't scratch the bottom. The service department replied that the trusses are a consumable item and scratches are not a concern. I can't disagree with that statement but I think there are better options for me which is why I returned this rack. Having never used them I can't comment on how well they work, but they look solid.
