I have an Ecobee thermostat. thought it would be nice to pair that camera with this one. But this is probably the most expensive indoor camera option. The Alexa integration is good. and I heard there will be an option to save videos to Apple Homekit. But this camera has two major drawbacks. The first is a loud click when the camera switches to night vision mode. Along with it, three bright red LEDs light up. That might be fine if you don't have a camera in a prominent place in your home, but for our needs it had to be next to our TV. This is the best place to give us a complete view of our entire living room and kitchen. The problem is that at night when only the TV is on, the camera constantly switches to night vision mode for brighter or darker scenes on the TV. A loud click will be heard each time night vision is toggled on or off. Second, the device gets very hot! Annoyed by the clicking sound of the camera going in and out of night vision, I tried to unplug the device and noticed that the back of the device and the connector that plugs in were very hot. Almost too hot to touch. I have serious doubts about this and I believe it could be a fire hazard. That alone was enough to send him back. Hopefully Ecobee will address these issues in a future model because I love their smart thermostat.
