I have a 2006 Nissan Quest. When putting on a new lever, it didn't sit quite as far back as the old one, leaving a gap between the rubber grommets. This could result in water entering the car. The problem seems to be that the metal cone seat doesn't fit perfectly. Its walls looked somewhat convex, not flat. To fix this it was easy to disassemble the old and new levers. I used an old original seat part with a new spring and lever. Parts are lightweight and perfectly interchangeable. The new assembly fits perfectly and seals well.
