One of the best cables

Sometimes you find devices that just make life easier. Nikon Retractable Rangefinder Tether is one such product. Nikon makes a good product and this is no exception. It's just a retractable cord with a strong spring. You can attach your range finder or other electronic device to one end and then clip it to your belt. Your range finder is now always at hand, never lost or tangled in your hands. The case is made of plastic so I'm not sure how it will hold up in everyday use. If you're like me, you don't go hunting every day, so that's not a problem. The belt clip is on the small side. It attaches to a belt loop or D-ring, not a belt. I love that it attaches to your gear with a key ring. It's very safe. The 25-inch cable is jacketed in nylon and has a 60-pound breaking strength. The retraction force is 9 ounces, which is more than it looks. Hanging a range finder on it is no problem. A small digital camera, GPS navigator, or knife will also work. Personally, I prefer to hang the rangefinder with a half ring on my backpack or vest on my left shoulder. However, the 25 inch cable is long enough to attach to a backpack or belt anywhere. A word of caution: don't let go of the range finder. The pullback force is so great that it will snap back loudly and forcefully, potentially damaging the device and injuring you. I see many uses for the Nikon retractable rangefinder. I often wished my gun, knife, or GPS had a leash, but the long rope just got in the way. I'll probably buy a few more of these and attach them to my more important (and expensive) gear.
