I bought these blocks for my son as a 1st birthday present and I didn't realize at the time that he was too small to understand the blocks. It was another 6 months before he started folding them. The box for her was a super added bonus because it was strong enough to withstand his constant abuse. He tore the lid off but the box is holding and we keep it in the living room to store the blocks. As it is now almost 2 years old I can say that these blocks have been badly damaged. He drops them, he uses them to write on my walls. Yes, the paint on the ogive blocks will peel off your wall if you use them like a crayon. But nothing that the magic eraser can fix. In general, these blocks are objects of everyday use, which is saying a lot as many toys are not. I recommend waiting until your child is 2 years old to really enjoy it before purchasing.
