Review on Noctua NF-P12 redux-1700 PWM: Optimized 4-Pin Cooling Fan for Exceptional Performance at 1700 RPM (120mm, Grey) by Aaron Urena

The ugliest fans at the best quality at the best price: Performance Ratio

Noctua have a good reputation and I'm happy to say they deserve it. All of that. For quality, performance and a noticeable lack of aesthetics. The fans including the blades are made of very high-quality plastic, so they last a very long time. Mean time to failure is also tested to a very high standard. In terms of performance, you shouldn't pay attention to RPM (revolutions per minute) here, but to CFM, which measures actual airflow. A fan with a higher speed may have less airflow depending on the design. In this respect, Noctua absolutely beats its competitors. The NF-P12 redux-1700 PWM has a CFM of 70, which is very good value for the price. The only other fan in the price range that has this number is the Arctic Cooling fan. But if you also add that Noctua also delivers 2.83 mm H20 static pressure, it is simply unbeatable. No fan on the market delivers this airflow AND this static pressure at this price point. What does that mean? This means you can place these fans anywhere in your case and get optimal performance. Got some wires blocking airflow? Don't worry - the static pressure is high enough that Noctua doesn't mind. Got a nice cavernous opening that maximizes airflow? No problem! The airflow rating is high enough for Noctua to take advantage of this situation. And all at such an affordable price that you can buy a bunch of them. High quality, high performance, low cost. Ugly as hell. Path of Noctua.
