Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhanced Motorcraft CX-2409 Canister Purge Valve by Jamie Kamoso

Significantly increased my MPG

I have a 2011 F150 Platinum with a 5.0 engine. Average consumption per gallon has decreased slightly in recent years. I never had any codes, but when I filled up my gas tank, it took me longer to start the engine. A google search led me to this part. I'm not mechanically inclined, but it seemed easy. Two plugs and two screws directly on the motor. I was hoping it might improve my cost per gallon as well, and with gas prices like this, every little thing helps. One thing, however, YouTube says you can test it by removing the hose and testing the vacuum, but that only checks if it's working at all. My understanding is that they can get stuck open causing your car to run too rich. Checking for a vacuum does not diagnose this. In any case, I took the plunge and bought this one. I always choose Motorcraft parts through the aftermarket so I know what I'm getting even though the price was double the price. Changed in 10 minutes, very easy. After a few days of driving, I went from 10.5 mpg city to 15.5 mpg city average. That's almost a 50% increase in mpg! That means I'll be spending a lot less on pumps. A few fillings will pay off. For anyone with poor gas mileage and a bit of a tricky start after filling up, try this, it could save you a fortune in the long run.
