When I bought my first Tim Holtz stamp set I was dismayed to find that they weren't attached to the old wooden blocks I was used to. People seemed to be in love with her and I liked the look. Rather than returning them I invested in acrylic grid blocks to use with them and now I will never use anything else again. First, buy sets of rubber stamps to stick to these acrylic pieces. This gives you a lot more storage space: you can store stamp ends in folders on the shiny sides they are attached to. They simply peel off the skin (no stickiness required - they stick to anything slippery thanks to their backing) and stick. Lots more stamps for your money - you'll use acrylic blocks over and over again and only pay for the rubber portion of the stamp. So why would you want these acrylic blocks to match your rubber tips? Mesh, baby and subtle make it easy for you to see through them. Let's say I want to create curved rays coming from a shape that is already on my artwork. If I were to use a thick acrylic block or wooden stamp, I wouldn't be able to line up the bars exactly around my head. This way I can see exactly where the rubber stamp will line up on my piece BEFORE I print it and while I'm stuffing it, but that's where the grids come in. Let's say I want to align something in a perfectly straight line with my artwork, like a bird perched on a wire. They have horizontal and vertical grid lines to ensure your stamps never rest on your artwork. You can align them to the edge of your postcard, paper, or canvas, or you can align them to what's already at the bottom of your page. Even better, since this set includes several large acrylic pieces, you can line up multiple stamps in a row. , perfectly straight, and press them onto your artwork all at once - or place them however you like, e.g. B. on top of each other - the grids ensure that they are always straight both on the artwork and when aligned on acrylic. I'm so glad I accidentally discovered this new way of stamping - I don't think I would have tried it otherwise and now I'll never order anything but I don't think so - huge choice, great design, easy storage, makes possible better accuracy. I keep my acrylic pieces in a tiny bin that you could use for cards on my art table and just take them out when needed.
