Review on 🐠 GloFish Blue LED Light - 6 Inch, Ideal for Aquariums Up To 10 Gallons by Heather Johnson

I bought these two items to compare. I don't work for any company and I didn't get them at a discount. I have a 5 gallon aquarium (Marineland Portrait) that I really like. big enough for 5-6 glofish and a large decorative stone. The blue light that came with the tank died after 5 years and I wanted a new light to show the Glofish. The bright blue light is key to making the glove "glow". I really liked the idea of the different color options of the Smiful LED and the remote control is a fantastic idea. It would be better if there was a built-in timer, but nobody offers that! The Smiful LED was also cheaper than the Tetra LED and was also said to be fully waterproof if you wanted to mount the suction cups inside the tank and not on the glass. Tetra LED offers you a clip to attach to the top/front of the tank but I found it too difficult to attach so I used a tiny piece of industrial velcro which I trimmed so each end of the light would stick to it. Glass aquarium cover The description of the Tetra flashlight doesn't say it's waterproof but the one page manual in the box says it is but I didn't think it was fully waterproof so I left it on the tank instead of inside. Smiful LED does a great job of being waterproof. After both are adjusted for lighting comparison, the brightness of the 6-inch Tetra LED surpasses that of the Smiful. There is no comparison. My GloFish are amazingly bright with Tetra LED. So if you can do without a remote control, different background colors, improved mounts and full waterproofing - and all you want is bright blue light, then the 6" Tetra GloFish LED is just that Right one for you. If you value other features more than bright blue light, Smiful LED is the right choice. I'm leaving Tetra and returning to Smyful. hope this helps others in their decision.
