Review on 🐱 Ideal Pet Products Cat Flap Door - 4-Way Lock, 6.25"x 6.25" Flap Size, Cream (SPF) - Enhanced SEO by Knate Scarpelli

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Suitable for outdoor use in moderate or partially wind/rain protected conditions.

Ideal for indoor and even outdoor areas that are relatively protected from the elements (rain and wind) and do not require perfect heat dissipation. I installed it in a panel on a garage window and the kitty loves it. I would give five stars but the quality of the plastic lock leaves something to be desired. My latch is bad and doesn't always fit the edge of the door as it should. For my purposes it doesn't matter much as I almost never lock it, but if you need to use the lock on a daily basis I would recommend getting a better quality, more expensive pet door as the lock will likely break. or wear out with daily use. It's only good for occasionally restraining the cat when she's determined to get in each other's way, like sawing wood or hammering in nails. You can train a cat to use this in under an hour by luring them in with cat treats. First, hold the door open and lure him back and forth in both directions. Curl them both ways so they remember going through the hole on each side. Then lure him back and forth, but throw the door on his back (not on his head because it will hit his sideburns on his forehead, making him think something of unknown weight is falling on his head). After you've done this a few times, try to lure him in without opening him. Open it slightly so he can see how he moves. He will start scratching at the edges and will try to open it at first, but eventually he will try to put pressure on it. Shake up a bag of treats to boost your motivation. Curl him back and forth two or three times and that's it. At first they will hesitate a little before pushing it, but after a day or two they will pass it like it's not there.
