I don't know if a smaller size would work because the toe length fits perfect. Its the width which i have a wide foot and my foot has no support on the sides. The back of the shoe is very awkward also. Almost to high which makes it loose also. If you are going to just sit these are very comfy and warm but not for walking around the house
