Review on πŸ“Ό USB Video Capture Card for Windows - MyGica Capit Lite - Convert VHS to DVD, Audio and Video Capture by Sam Faucher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overall a solid range at a good price but with a few minor flaws

I recently bought a MyGica Capit to digitize some old kids VHS videos. As part of a current project, I have combined all my photos and videos in a library. Knowing that magnetic media like VHS only has a limited lifespan, I also thought I should look into digitizing my tapes. , or digitize them yourself with an adapter like this, so I bought an adapter. I definitely made the right choice. When I received the product CD, I was able to install the software on my Windows 10 PC with no problems - none of the issues I've seen in some of the other reviews (I think they updated the software). I grabbed an old VHS player we had lying around, hooked it up to the Capit and got to work. When recording a video, you have the option to stop the program recording after a specified time, or you can stop it manually at any time. It also records in real-time, which is the only way to do it, and I enjoyed previewing and listening as I recorded. My only problem is the post production options in the software. While adding the ability to edit clips and add things like text was a good idea for the software that came with such a cheap device, it was a really big problem and the export to file option didn't work for me . So I finally put the videos into Sony Vegas 13 and cut, edited and processed them there instead; However, if you don't have other editing software, you might just be out of luck.
