Doesn't work with Windows 10 Out of the box

The product description says the Capit encoder is compatible with Windows 10, 8.1 and 7 but the box says it only works with Windows XP/Vista/7 is working. If you install bundled software, the video capture encoder will not install correctly on Windows 10. The XP/Vista/7 software in the box assumes DirectX 9 support, while Windows 10 uses DirectX 11 or 12. As a result, DirectX incompatibility occurs. Video editing screens appear as blank rectangles, making the editing software unusable. There is

It worked with my Windows 10 laptop

Ignore the instructions that came with it. My first attempt to install the driver failed. Installed software, then successfully installed driver. The software was able to load, but did not recognize the camcorder's AV input. Switched to 2.0 USB and it showed up. Note the 3 tabs at the top: Capture, Edit, Produce. Getting started with Capture is pretty easy, just launch the camcorder and the software at the same time. Once you press stop, it won't continue - it's the end of your file. I haven't…

It works fine. If you have a good processor and RAM,

The product works well. First you need to understand that is copying vs. capturing. Google it. Then you have to understand that you can switch from a digital to an analogue (even videotape) end product at any time. .there will be loss of quality. Remember the old Xerox problem. a copy of a copy of a copy. You can still read! Also, give yourself plenty of time to play around with the settings, particularly the sound. Try different sound settings until you master them. They also have some…

Ok but wish the cable was longer

This thing works well and I've used it to convert old home videos recorded on cassette tape to digital and save to my google drive. The product does everything it says on the tin and I have recommended it to cousins who also wanted to digitize their videos. However, I wish the cable was a little longer as it can get bulky and unwieldy when trying to keep the USB connection to your camcorder connected to yellow, white and red cables. I didn't realize it either, but to capture video from the…

Overall a solid range at a good price but with a few minor flaws

I recently bought a MyGica Capit to digitize some old kids VHS videos. As part of a current project, I have combined all my photos and videos in a library. Knowing that magnetic media like VHS only has a limited lifespan, I also thought I should look into digitizing my tapes. , or digitize them yourself with an adapter like this, so I bought an adapter. I definitely made the right choice. When I received the product CD, I was able to install the software on my Windows 10 PC with no problems…

Nice device for a small price.

I have had various video capture devices in the past and if you want to record S-VHS quality video this device will do. Unlike many video capture devices that share more or less the same physical design, this one has Windows 10 compatible drivers and mine worked right out of the box. Download them from the CD or website first before plugging the device into the USB port. Since you're making analog recordings, the USB 2.0 configuration doesn't have a major disadvantage. Arcsoft Showbiz software…

An excellent device at an excellent price

An excellent device. I was looking for a way to burn some VHS home videos to DVD. I looked around and saw that a copied VHS/DVD set usually costs $250 ($150 will not be copied), then I looked at the services offered in various stores and Walmart and Walgreens were charging 25 to 35 Dollars for each DVD it was a bit pricey for me. So after reading some reviews I got this device and it works great. Once I got it, I installed the software and drivers for my PC, plugged the adapter into my VCR and…

Truncates a random amount from the first part of a data set

I'm a programmer and I've spent a lot of time getting this to work. If I can't get this combination of hardware and software to work properly, good luck to everyone else. Basically, the system (not sure if it's hardware, software, or a combination of both) randomly truncates the first part of the recording, so you can't create a recording that starts over. The problem is that this problem only occurs with full-length recordings. If you do a quick test input, you'll believe it's working…
