I bought an ASUS gaming laptop that doesn't come with a CD/DVD player/burner. I did my homework and figured this would be the winner. This is exactly what I was looking for. Rips and Burns is like a champ and very quiet. Additional configuration is not required. Except for the recording program. But it plays music and DVDs on its own. No software to install. plug and play I would suggest a free video player called VLC Portable that plays all music and DVDs. I would also suggest finding a reliable DVD burning software ie. DVD Fab or Best Free Burning Tools for Windows 10 Ashampoo Burning Studio Free (recommended) If you are looking for a reliable tool that is also very easy to use, Ashampoo Burning Studio Free is probably your best choice. .ImgBurn. .BurnAware is free. .CDBurnerXP. .DVD movie. .DeepBurner.or something like that. Great DVD player/recorder for the money.
