Verbatim DVD-R DigitalMovie

OverviewDVD-R Verbatim DigitalMovie is a 1x to 4x speed recordable DVD media with a unique film-like appearance. Verbatim DigitalMovie discs are available in 3-packs including 4.7GB DVD-R or DVD+R media packaged in clear DVD Super Jewel Boxes. Discs can be used to back up DVD video titles and transfer video tapes to optical media that will not wear out over time. The discs can also be used with compatible Personal Video Recorders (PVRs) to standardize the appearance of recorded video in DVD-Video sized transparent boxes. With a capacity of 4.7GB, users can store 2 hours of high-quality video on a single disc, and at 4x speed, an entire 4.7GB DVD+R or -R disc can be burned in around 15 minutes . Warranty, Verbatim DigitalMovie DVD-R retail price is approximately $11.99 for a 3-pack. If you try to open it from the top, the plastic just flexes (and you can see it's secured in the middle). When I tried to place my thumb in the middle of the right edge and pull outward, my thumb just slipped off. The best way to open the case (after a lot of experimentation) was to place your palm on the front of the lid and, applying light palm pressure, leave the right middle edge open with your fingers. I've never seen a case open like this before, so some less patient consumers, unaware of this trick beforehand (there are no instructions on the box), find more drastic ways of ejecting the DVD from the case. Once you get the hang of it it will be pretty easy. Aside from the occasion, the DVD-R itself is no different from other DVD-Rs. Download it to your Mac DVD burning drive (be it Superdrive or a third-party drive) and launch the DVD burning software. A piece of the cake. Given the look of the film, the main selling point of this DVD-R is definitely performance. However, it's important to note if you're sacrificing quality to look good. In this case, absolutely not. DVD-R burns at 1x to 4x and in all my cases it recorded flawlessly. DVD-R discs are based on Mitsubishi Kagaku Media's metal-azo-dye recording technology, which, simply put, means the discs record with more headroom and better sensitivity than previous-generation discs. DigitalMovie DVD media also uses Ultra-Precise Molding technology, which means you get very flat discs with stable, high-speed read and write rotation. Add to that the lifetime warranty and you have a solid and reliable DVD-R product. The top of the DVD-R is printed directly onto the disc with a film roll image, giving the media a very nostalgic and film-like feel. It is ideal for home video watching, especially as a gift for family and friends. I used iMovie to put together a few movies from my nephew's freshman year and burn them to DVD-R DigitalMovie using iDVD. Made great gifts! There wasn't much room on the disc to record, so I had to shorten the film's title. If I wanted to make a list of everything in the film, I could print out the form and put it in my jewelry box. Although the sleeve might not be the easiest to open, it looks very nice and the DVD media slides out so you can insert a printed description of the contents underneath. You can also slide the lid from the front (similar to a CD case, except the lid slides top to bottom instead of left to right). The case is the same size as a standard DVD case, making it a perfect fit for your DVD library. Verbatim DigitalMovie DVD-R discs are stylish DVD-R discs that capture the stylish look of the Modern Sports movie. Technology related to product design and reliability, include high transparent DVD case and lifetime warranty. These DVD-Rs work great with iDVD, are perfect for home movies and make great gifts. A jewelry box is difficult to open if you don't know how to open it. These DVD-Rs are great for shipping, so it would be nice to be able to buy them on a roll without the boxes. Anyone who makes home videos will love these DVD-Rs! Pros - State of the art DVD-R technology - Stylish filmstrip design - Tall jewel case to fit your DVD library - Lifetime warranty Cons - Case can be difficult to open - Limited space to write labels - No option to purchase on roll Overall Rating 4/1 /2 out of 5 mice
