I wish I knew that to download firmware

you must have an Apple iPhone. From everything I've read and the YouTube videos I've watched, it has never been said that downloading the firmware requires an iPhone (which is twice the price of a GoPro Hero 8) to even use it to start using the phone. I wasn't expecting it and so it will be some time before I can start enjoying it. To be advised.
