Use these inserts to create the 1/4 to 20 threaded holes I need in the bottom of my dining chair legs so I can add some nice twists. These worked great. I used a 3/8" bit which works well for inserts. You need to screw the inserts into the 3/8" holes. It's a tight fit, so I smeared the outside of the inserts with melted candle wax to help with installation and used a long-handled 6mm hex wrench to turn the inserts.
