After 7 months and still I was hesitant because of the price and worried about the quality. I'm used to this truck costing $200 so I decided to take a chance and give it a try. I tried another manufacturer's "new" alternator and two units arrived and two units worked right out of the box. The original lasted just under 100,000. When this truck's alternator first failed, I replaced it and drove about 50,000 miles before it stopped charging. I installed it on a cold December day and it was a perfect fit, the right pulley and all. I started the truck and it's 14.1 volts straight away, it's only done about 15,000 miles and it's still charging at the exact same 14.1 volts. I can't say how long this will take as anyone with a diesel and extreme cold knows the ordeal an alternator goes through trying to recharge the batteries that just started a truck that he left unplugged, and it was -10 F. Even if it only lasts 30,000 miles, it's better than a $200 repair.
