Has six separate settings for gentle grinding. When chopping a handful of peppers for use in bulk or for roasting, the manual options are slow to utilize. Sure I could use a mortar and pestle, but now I can't control the grinding speed. This thing gives the perfect grind at the perfect level every time, in bulk. I can grind a tablespoon or more at a time for use in larger recipes. And it's not just for peppers! I also placed some Grains of Paradise here with a similar effect. We have a Peugeot Long Hand pepper grinder, but it's designed for fast grinding. This pepper mill is designed for serious grinding that requires a certain level of delicacy. This is the Cadillac of grinders and we love using it. The grinding effect of Peugeot works excellently. Don't bother with cheaper substitutes. In the end, they have to be disposed of because the grinding effect is short-lived.
