I used this pump to replace my reverse osmosis system. I used existing plumbing for the R/O faucet and ice maker. I now use Shurflo to pump water from a 5 gallon water bottle that housed the R/O system in the garage to my R/O kitchen faucet and ice maker. I no longer waste water that went down the drain as the R/O filters the water and my wife likes the taste better. Yes, I have to change the bottle every few days and the effort is a bit higher, but a happy woman makes life happy. Another plus is that I no longer have to service my P/O and change filters every 6 months. I live in an area notorious for bad water. Even the water softener and R/O system couldn't quite capture the flavor of the bottled water. Shurflo flawlessly pumped water about 8 feet up into the attic and 40 feet down to the faucets.
