Going on the Slim Fast Diet in the 4th week and have lost 10 kilos. My husband joined me during my second week on the diet and by week 3 he also lost 10 pounds. We've only recently started adding exercise to our weight loss journey (hiking. Around week 5 I'll be adding yoga at least once a week). Some background information. My height is 5 feet 1 inch. I had two children a year apart. But I've always struggled with the weight as I'm the kind of person who can look at food and gain weight. I also like to consume calories through sweetened coffee/tea, lemonade, etc. I no longer drink sodas and have switched to unsweetened iced tea. I add 1/2 cup of black coffee to my Slim Fast Shake in the morning and always add 1/2 cup of ice to my shakes. I finally realized that without a real plan to reduce that weight, that weight is going nowhere. I'm busy homeschooling our kids and I need something easy. my formula I love drinking calories + ease = fast weight loss. The first two weeks were torture. But I was determined to stick with it. Going from food to snack, food to snack, etc., etc. was very difficult at first as it seemed to put too much pressure on my mind. I only thought about the food. By the end of the second week I was done with it and sometimes forgot to snack! Hooray! Now I eat a lot healthier. I get dairy (2 cups a day via Slimfast) as well as salads, fruits, veggies, and grains. To also help me count calories and eat healthier, I started buying Lean Cuisine products at my local grocery store. Until I started Slim Fast, it didn't occur to me that fruits and vegetables are low in calories and don't appear to contain any fat calories. Nature intended it for us. I can eat a lean lunch (e.g. sake) for about 350 calories and then eat a whole plate of different vegetables and fruits. As for on-the-go snacking, I also love their 100-calorie Special K granola bars and their 80-calorie brownies. I hope those who read my review find inspiration and stick with this weight loss plan for at least a few months. Experts always say that the key to losing weight is consistency. SlimFast is a great way to be consistent. My tip: - For lunch, I prefer to cook a meal with 500-600 calories. It makes the day easier. - Mix 1/2 cup of ice into your smoothies and it will be much more filling. - Add 1/2 cup of coffee to your morning smoothie. - Buy tons of canned fruits and vegetables. Stock up on your pantry and you'll have light snacks and sides to go with your meal. - Discover other weight loss brands and maybe combine them. Frozen Meals, Snack Bars, Desserts, Etc - Mrs. Dash is a great condiment for turkey burgers, etc as it has 0 calories and no sodium compared to other condiments. Unsweetened almond milk is a good alternative to skim milk. I read several reviewers who said they couldn't lose weight on skim milk until they switched to unsweetened almond milk because they were lactose intolerant. I learned that in the first 3.5 weeks. I've lost 10 pounds and still have 25-30 to lose. Much luck! We can all!
