EDIT: I'm reducing my rating from 2 stars to 1 star - I would give these brushes 0 stars if I could. It ALSO developed a huge crack after using the dark one to peel vegetables. Save yourself the headache and buy something else, it's a waste of money. The reviews for these scrubs are mostly positive, so I took a chance and ordered a set. It turned out to be a game I lost. I bought these brushes to use on my cast iron, but after a few passes of one of the darker brushes over my 10" pan, I realized I couldn't use them on my cast iron. Iron. The bristles are so far beyond abrasive it's not even funny. I don't feel sorry for my cast iron, it's tough by nature, but even that can be damaged by repeated rough handling and these bristles are definitely tough. They can be good for burning dirt occasionally, but too much for everyday use. I tried a lighter brush as it was softer and did a good job with my cast iron. However, after only two uses, it developed a tear on the side. Only two uses! I am so disappointed as I had high hopes for it.
