My daughter first learned to eat with these spoons. She has learned that when she turns white, the food is too hot and she has to wait or blow on the food to cool it down. I was concerned because we put the spoons in the top rack of the dishwasher. They came out clean but turned white because the water inside was very hot. After a few more uses and a few more passes in the top rack of the dishwasher, the spoons turned white and never returned to their original color. I used a lot of them before this happened and I'm sure you need to replace them really often, but I was hoping they would go back to their normal color at least a dozen more times. These spoons are very durable. My little girl has learned to control them well and her tiny hands make them easy to hold.
