Multitasking Vacuum sealed, proven. Bought 03/2017. After receiving it, I did a cold water test for about 20 hours at room temperature with the taste temperature sensor, the drink dropped about 1-2 degrees. As advertised, this jar does not retain any odors or flavors from the lid. It's a multitasker because I used it as a bar shaker to mix water with powdered drink and honey. I take it to work and it sits in my sun heated car for 8 hours at 85+ degrees outside and losing minimal temperatures. I haven't heated it up yet. but the vacuum doesn't care about the temperature. Product description: bottle, cap and plastic connector between cap and bottle. The bottle is definitely double wall vacuum sealed, it doesn't sweat when filling like single wall vacuum sealed jars. A true vacuum sealed jar does not distinguish between hot or cold temperatures and is only affected by the surface temperature of the hole through the lid. The bottle is powder coated which also gives some grip. For a year, despite two falls, the color survived and did not deteriorate at all. The neck diameter of the bottle is slightly larger than 2 1/4 inches, so drinking can be difficult if done quickly in a jiffy and could result in you spilling. .The outer gray area is an elastic band that helps keep the cap in place when donning. The tighter the seal, the better the vacuum. There is no drinking spout or anything else on the top of the original cap, this part is the bottle connector. The plastic connector is basically the plastic loop that attaches from the top of the cap to the neck of the bottle. This part is non-removable and permanently connected unless you cut it off. This part appears to push the lid down, creating a tighter fit. This can result in the lid slapping you in the face while drinking, which is annoying for many. Others report that this part breaks as they use it as a handle to carry the bottle with them. Not sure what the vacuum will do if this part breaks or you replace it with another nozzle with a spout to fill the lid. Pros: Works like a multitasking jar, hot/cold vacuum doesn't matter, minimal temperature loss, 1 year+ still fully functional.
