It takes awhile to warm water with sun shining on it but once water gets warm it does retain the heat well. After 1st summer seasons use, product was cleaned and dried, folded carefully and stored inside garage away from heat or extreme cold. For the 2nd summer season it seemed in good shape when we put on pool, however before the summer was over, ( 1 1/2 months at most) it was disintegrating everywhere! Little blue bubble pieces floating around in the water and all in our filter. So it did not last for 2 summer seasons. Prior cover we bought from different company lasted 4 complete seasons, so we were disappointed in this one only lasting 2 seasons.
