once on the hose, it's difficult to grasp the brass part

A good hose end leaves you space for your hand to wrap around the six-sided female threaded thing. But these bulky zinc clamps butt right up to the female-threaded-thing, so unless you carry a wrench around, it's tough to spin the ends with your hands.

Is as described. Would buy again.

Cons

The zinc clamp has a tendency to rust, which can compromise the strength of the connection

I absolutely love these little guys! I built a DYI hybrid Above/ below irrigation system last year and these worked great for my custom hoses that make up my system. I literally used about 100 of these and boy did the work GRRRREAT!Not one failure to date. I simply dip the end of the hose in a cup of hot water and it slides right on a 5/8"th hose. A 3/4" is much easier to install. You simply slide on hose and tighten down, then you are done.I highly Recommend!
