I have a lot of vacuum mugs and like it or not I compare most to the 'Y' brand. Not too difficult as they are something of the gold standard. So - this one - how does it work? Well, it's easier. It's not good in my book, but it might be for you. The gap between the inner and outer wall is also significantly smaller, but this did not cause any particular problems in practice. No sweating, anyway - and while I haven't done any scientific temperature/time testing, it seems to keep hot things hot and cold things cold *almost* as long. The upholstery on top looks a little cheaper and I really don't feel like a super cheap sunroof at all. There is a HUGE difference in perceived quality compared to a magnetic slider. Finally, the shape of the base, which is curved, seems to tip over a little more easily than my 20oz. competition cup. All this does not make this mug bad. It feels good in the hand and does what it's supposed to. If the price had been more aggressive, the problems wouldn't have been so obvious. But if you want to market a product at the same price as a well-known competitor, you'd better pay attention to the side-by-side comparison, and this one cuts all the marks. Considering the price I would give it 3.5 stars. I rounded up to 4 because it's Company B.
