UGREEN USB C 3.1 Gen 2 2.5" Solid State Drive Enclosure This is an all-plastic enclosure suitable for 2.5" SSDs up to 9.5mm in height and not designed for 12mm SSDs. The -C cable shows up as "UP to 10 Gb/s" on my Mac. The read/write speeds with the Crucial 750G MX300 are stable at 450 and 480 Mbit/s. Overall it's reliable and in a year of use I've had no problems with three of the three cases. My two minor complaints are: • Difficult to open. The button presses on the part of the removable cover where it makes contact with the rest of the case. Pulling the orange tab is a waste of time. Once free from the handle, slide the top and bottom in opposite directions. After practicing everything is ready. • As with many other cases, the activity light is on the same end as the connector. In 99.73% of my use cases, the LED is facing away from me and is not visible, which does not indicate that the drive is connected or active. Obviously this is done so that the electronics and connector are on the same board. But at least the manufacturer was able to place a window on top of the case to convey an air of power and activity from most viewing angles. I may end up drilling a hole in the plastic cover to see if that helps. Remember the good old days when the LED was dual-colored, flashing blue or red depending on read or write activity? I have three of these and they all offer the same speed and work well. But it's time to move on to faster drives and NVMe enclosures because I feel the need.
