Lead Warning! - Tire sensors

I accidentally looked at the back of the packaging before opening it and saw a lead warning notice there. This is a return for me. Lead isn't easy to handle, especially if you can't wash your hands right away, even if it's an "acceptable amount." Why didn't this information appear in the description so I would waste my time and effort on an order only to return it?

  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Minor things

Easy to use and read

I love this tire gauge. I'm older but still drive. When my dash light alerted me that one of my tires was slowly leaking, I used one of those pencil-sized feelers to try to figure out which tire it was. I couldn't read it well, but I figured out which tire was leaking and had it fixed. I was looking for a pressure gauge for my car (the other one was rented) and came across this one. It works great, is easy to read and fits in my glove box so I don't have to be without it.

For a bargain! Good for tools and equipment

Customers have complained that this product contains lead and have returned it. It's BRASS, folks. Brass contains lead, as do all the keys in your pocket, so handle it. People have complained that they can't handle the pressure of the tire on their eyes. That could very well be the case, but I used mine over a week ago, recorded 32psi in the tire and the gauge still reads 30.5psi. Not too shabby and well above my expectations. This thing is a good deal. It's in my glove box. Buy one and send it

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

An old-fashioned tool: it's sturdy and works very well!

I was heartbroken to lose my beloved 40 year old tire gauge. It was solid, fitted well on the valve stem, had a large easy-to-read dial, and was easy to use and accurate. I haven't found anything like this in an auto parts store or a tool store. Then I saw it on Revain; It looked like this from the outside so I took a chance and that was all my alter had! I can't remember the last time I was this happy with just a few bucks. I just hope this one lasts half as long. There's no reason to think it

Accurate gauge / Holds pressure readings / Good looking

The gauge I received was accurate to 1psi or better at around 30psi and could hold pressure readings for minutes or longer. (which I found quite remarkable). The gauge looks premium and is quite heavy due to the large faceplate and brass construction, so storing it in a glove box, unless wrapped in a soft pouch, might not be ideal. Perfect for your tool box and the best value for money I've seen. (This gauge probably costs less than a set of digital gauge batteries.) My only gripe is that the…

Precise and easy to read

Advantages: - Very accurate! I ordered 2 of these (one for my car and one for my wife's truck) and both of those gauges matched the tire pressure! I was expecting a little but NO they were accurate. - Easy to read! I have to tell you that it's getting harder and harder for my eyes to read the fine print, so I'm very happy with the large print on these sensors. I love it and I want others to do the same. They look solid and feel solid. Good size, feels good in my hand and fits well in my glove…

IMPORTANT: Tire & Wheel Tools

This gauge doesn't give a pressure reading straight out of the box - it instantly bends the scale down every time. I guess it was accurate at peak pressure, for a moment, 4 times I've used it. Understand what you're getting - an attractive, legible dial on the gauge that's not calibrated to ANSI B40.1 Grade B (2%) like many competitors; Item made in China with lead warning, only 90 days manufacturer warranty (most warranties are one year or longer). The sensor feels cheap and tinny rather than…

Standard for most mechanics

I suspect this is the standard for people who expect accurate tire pressure checks, especially if you don't rely on gauges which can be a more reliable store. . I wish it was like the sensors I bought 45 years ago, made in the USA with almost the same specs. So, a metal body, a good pressure relief valve that can be pushed when pumping air to control any mechanical air pump well. Steel body of the valve stem, and the only caveat is that with all sensors of this type, it is expected that the…
