Replaced an existing unlit fan with this one. Installation is a bit more complicated than some others, but not overly difficult. With such a short shank, installing wire nuts is difficult. The remote control box mounted in the ceiling canopy left me a little perplexed. It will fit ALMOST on the ceiling mount, but you may need to rearrange the wiring and insert the remote control box between the two legs of the ceiling mount and over the ball and base. Simple, simple once I figure it out. Very nice fan and very solid construction. The remote has a neat storage bracket that can be slid over the wall switch if desired. A Phillips screwdriver, pliers, and something to cut and strip the wires to length are the only tools needed. Oh, press and hold the light button to dim the lights. This was a new function for me.
