foam protection top and bottom is a major design flaw when it comes to dust mites. As the dust mites are alive they can crawl and bypass the filter as well as pass through the protective foam on the top and bottom and this foam does not have the filtration capacity of a 0.3 micron filter. I learned this the hard way when I noticed that over time during use increased dust mites were crawling all over the place and I literally felt like I was breathing tiny dust particles down my throat. Levoit should replace these foam protectors with soft rubber or silicone to completely seal the top and bottom!
