Expensive but how much is your time worth? Gets the job done quickly and perfectly.

You're probably wondering why spend so much money on a silver cleaner when you can use baking soda or some other homemade mix. Here's the answer: I think I've tried every homemade silver polish and many commercial ones and this is the best I've used in 25 years. It's a bit more expensive than some, but I've polished over a dozen thrift store silver plates, some of which were tarnished, blackened new finds, and I've got a quarter bottle left. For most people, one bottle will last for years. This product has me embarrassed at the condition of the silver plates I already had and I thought they were in great condition and gleamed in the cupboard. NOT CORRECT. Out of curiosity I polished one piece and then couldn't stop until I had done them all because the ones I flash polished were much cleaner and brighter than the others. As for the new thrift store finds, they really shine and if the previous owners could see them they would kick themselves because this thing is so easy and quick to use that it takes very little effort from you. The only flaw was the discoloration of dozens of rags with black spots that were not completely washed out when washed. Using paper towels can scratch the silver, which flash and a rag will not. Blitz also doesn't seem to have diluted the finish at all, unlike many others. No need to rub, just gently wipe the polish with a soft cloth to reduce the risk of damage. I used an old soft toothbrush to buff the intricate design elements and the cotton swabs buffed it lightly. Because it's a polish it supposedly leaves a protective layer on the parts, but I wash and dry anything that comes in contact with food or drink and I always wear gloves to protect my hands. But it doesn't smell bad. I can't wait for the holiday season to show off my silver plate!
