Review on πŸ–¨οΈ X-MEDIA XM-PS110U USB 2.0 Port Network Print Server - High-Speed 10/100Mbps Ethernet Connectivity by Todd Calloway

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works well if you can do without a poorly written manual. Instructions and initial settings

work. Then I tried again and after a reboot my printer came up with a page with an IP address that was out of range of my router. This meant I now had to reconfigure my router with a smart home network of 40+ different items, locks, lights, smart TVs, wireless printers, security DVRs, etc. to match a randomly chosen IP address, so that I can connect to it for configuration. .The manufacturer does not provide services on weekends or after business hours. There was no one to turn to for help. Instead, I got a port emulator, hooked up the ethernet from my laptop to the device, and reconfigured my local IP address to match their IP scheme. to communicate with the device. Now I saw the homepage and quickly changed the IP address to my network and restored my laptop. Only then did it really work. The manual assumed everyone was using 192.168.0.x/16 and if somehow you didn't, its installer wouldn't even show an error, it just wouldn't run. reliable HP OJ 4575 to join my hack network so I can print to it wirelessly. It's a useful product, but it requires too much thought to make it work. I'm certified by Cisco, Microsoft, Checkpoint, etc. and shouldn't need to do that much for such a simple device. There was a DHCP option in the configuration. If only manufacturers would choose to make it the standard, that would be ideal. It performs well at 5-star level after a difficult setup. But crappy instructions, poor setup experience, and limited support bring my score down to a generous 3.

Pros
  • High-speed microprocessor and USB 2.0 compatible printing port speed up job processing
Cons
  • Long time
