I got a wireless card for my PC and installed it with little effort. It only worked "OK" for 8 months or so. During that time I had to contact Belkin Technical Support about 4 times. They were nice, maybe a little condescending. The thing is I don't have a second job servicing my computer and I expect support to keep me going without making me feel like a fool. But these are minor annoyances at best. However, after about 8 months, my computer suddenly froze and I couldn't connect to my network, but my neighbors' wireless networks COULD be found. Hm? I called Belkin and (to their credit) they didn't pretend like they didn't know what the problem was. With little hesitation they said the card was defective. I was transferred 3 times and they said they would replace me for free. Although at this point I no longer wanted any Belkin products as they replaced them for me free of charge. What did I have to lose? Ok, they asked for a credit card number so they will charge my card $43 and change it if I don't return my defective one within 20 days. It seemed fair. We reached this agreement on Wednesday afternoon. However, less than two hours later I checked my records and saw that my card had already been charged! I called back and said I didn't understand. Blekin told me one thing and did another. I asked them to stop the order and just credit my card. Nobody asked me WHY, but I didn't care anymore. Trust me. I was put on hold while they 'cancelled' an order placed 2 hours earlier. Grrrrr. The support person said they canceled the order but they need to call me back this afternoon to confirm the cancellation. DID WE NOT DO THIS NOW? Guess who didn't get called? The next day I received an email on how to return my defective card after receiving a new one. I replied via email that I canceled and just wanted my credit. Nobody answered. I emailed again on Saturday. Again not a word. On Monday I received an email saying the card had already been sent and there was nothing they could do! I tried to contact that particular customer service representative and .sigh.she wasn't on my desk! I emailed her telling her about the whole situation and that I will NEVER buy Belkin again. Never heard an answer to that. By the way, I was upset but didn't vent my email. I had valid complaints! I received the card but left it in the box. Went and attached my defective card and copies of my previous emails and sent them to Belkin. They received it two weeks ago and haven't signed me up yet. I called customer service a few days ago and gave them my RMA number, case number and tracking number to prove the cards were registered by Belkin. The customer service rep even complimented me on having all the information. OW! He said he would forward my enrollment request to the returns department and since I have all the information I should see the loan in a few days. Bad luck. It's not about $43. We're talking about a company that promises one thing, then hangs up and does another. I still have a router, but I will be giving it away soon. I *really* asked for a company credit instead of a card and that would have been fine, but then it's non-transferable and I have no plans to go anywhere near Belkin products again. I was hoping to donate a loan along with a router and maybe someone in need would have better luck. Forget it. STAY AWAY. I really regret not spending a few more dollars on a better company and product. If I could give Belkin zero stars, I would.
