After much research I bought this grinder to replace a larger Fellowes grinder which worked great for many years until I knocked it over and the grinder's teeth shifted to have . . This shredder only required a sheet of paper to touch the hole and it pulled the paper in without the need for a push. I believe this model is safer as you have to push the paper down before it snaps into place, but having to gently insert the paper into the hole before the grinding teeth pull it in makes the process much slower. It doesn't take long to fill the container completely, so be prepared to empty it frequently. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised that the wheels were a lot easier to install than I expected after reading the reviews. I only had a regular hammer, but with a thick potholder as a cushion, the wheels went into the car after a few hard hits. Unfortunately, in contrast to my previous Fellowes model, this document shredder is not "jam-proof". I've tried loading no more than three or four sheets of standard weight paper at a time and had no problems until I tried loading two envelopes at a time. Both envelopes only contained one sheet of paper, so I placed the envelopes side by side vertically. There was room on either side of the opening, the envelopes didn't overlap, but the shredder was stuck. Only pulling out the envelopes, which required considerable effort, solved the problem. I like the shredder as it's a bit smaller and significantly quieter than my former Fellowes shredder, but I'm quite disappointed with the recent jam, especially given the light weight of the stuck items. I lubricated the chopper after assembly and it doesn't need additional lubrication yet as it hasn't been used much. So I was overwhelmed by a traffic jam that required sheer brute force to clear. I hope the traffic jam was just an accident. But having only owned this grinder for a week and trying not to overload it or use it for more than a few minutes at a time, I'm now a little worried about how it will hold up. However, I rely on the usual Fellowes quality and hope that with proper care this model will last for many years.
