I bought this yogurt maker after looking at several yogurt makers and because it had a 5x rating. I made 4 servings exactly as directed. Only one batch turned out, but the fermentation lasted almost a day. He had good taste. This last batch I made sat in the car for 1.5 days and never came close to curing. I also put a thermometer in to keep track of the temperature and it was everywhere. At first it only read 39 degrees so I covered it with a towel to keep some of the heat out. Over time, it rose to 117 degrees. The temperature on the coaster rose and fell until it reached 145 degrees when I finally gave up after 29 hours. I'm sending it back and will keep looking for a yogurt maker.
