Used on the day of arrival. Allows removing the bearing (dimensions: 43X90X30) from the pinion shaft without damaging the roller cage. That's a pretty tight tolerance, maybe 2mm of play between gear and bearing. My old separator could not have been removed without destroying the cage. If you're just replacing the bearing, it doesn't matter if it's broken. However, when there is no other option but to reuse a good old stock, such a good tool is invaluable. However, I would caution you not to readjust a few times during removal to keep the cage from detaching from the roll cage. If the roll cage is still spinning while extruding, that's fine. I can't comment on durability as I haven't used it for a long time.
