Let me say up front that I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I take my time with all my DIY projects and like to do things right. This pen cannot be obtained exactly right. I bought this item thinking it would look better than a license plate camera and be easy to replace with an OEM grip. Unfortunately, it doesn't sit flush in the tailgate recess. I have about 3/16 inch of metal left on the metal. It's made of cheap plastic, which makes it prone to warping and warping. I'd say there's a 50/50 chance that most of them won't fit perfectly in the tailgate handle opening. I would try to exchange it for a replacement but I'm just out of the exchange/refund window.
