This was a replacement for my 8 year old Series 7 Pulsonic. I really liked the improved shave with this razor. Unfortunately, after a few months of very infrequent use (without having to go to the office), the cleaning and charging station stopped working (without charging or cleaning). The Razor works great and charges with the power cord. Something is wrong with the base station electrical contacts that make contact with the shaver. Called Revane who put me through to Brown. Brown insisted I send both the razor and base back to a service center which makes no sense. So I just had to buy a razor and not spend money on the whole system. Braun didn't provide a good reason not to just swap out my base. UPDATE: A few weeks later, Braun replaced the entire kit and I didn't have to send the razor back. Support could have communicated better but they came and fixed the problem.
