. This extender works over TCP/IP so you can send your HDMI signal through switches (unmanaged or professional) miles over endless fiber optics (between two switches) etc . They compress the image a bit BUT it's not noticeable like the LKV373 or other extenders. noticeable when someone sees a projection to the left of the stage with an HDMI cable and another 100 feet to the right of the stage with this device. The lag will be noticeable, and this device will not be useful to you. if you need network transmission. this is the best, DON'T DOUBT. cannot transmit over the network, only over a wire RJ45 point-to-point
