Review on ๐Ÿƒ Fresh Foam Arishi V1 Trail Running Shoe for Men by New Balance by Bryan Gibbons

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fits true to size; Fun and comfortable socks, but lack support and cushioning.

I went to the NB store here in Atlanta to try them on as I have never tried the 'Fresh Foam' midsoles as they are an Adidas Boost graft. Turns out they haven't worn them, and after noticing their lines this year, they have others that cost more, are more durable, and have better cushioning. In my opinion most of them are bulky and not very stylish (I won't say much about them lol). Leaning in and understanding the product's price levels and margins, I can say that this is their low end. The Arishi overall is actually a bit disappointing with its relatively poor build quality compared to what other major shoe manufacturers offer, but they are reasonably priced. UNTIL you break them in, the tongue and tight fibers in the toe and forefoot feel like cardboard, and the midsole doesn't have the fresh foam cushioning I was expecting. After having them for a few weeks I used them for daily walking and jogging but eventually admitted they just don't offer good medial support with the insole that came with them. I have a very neutral gait and I think this is the first shoe in my life that has actually overpronated! Considering I have more comfortable support/cushioning shoes for this purpose I won't run in them but you almost have to buy new insoles to really appreciate them. , and finally move on to something hard. In fact, I could see myself wandering in them since I've been considering the NB Minimus line, but for now these will suffice. The look of these sneakers is actually quite nice as you can see from the photos and I don't expect them to last very long on Revain. Once you find some hacks to make them as special as I have, especially after replacing the laces with reflective laces, replacing the minimal insoles, and spray-painting Scotchguard to keep them clean, I guess I have a winner in my rotation. .Let me know if this review is helpful!
