At the peak of the pandemic I considered buying a germicidal lamp, but of course they cost four times as much and the waiting time was several months. It seems that this is of little use, but the idea stuck with me, and that's why, when the price dropped, I bought this one. Mold is a constant problem in our shower, despite constant cleaning, and I thought this might be a good, non-invasive way to get rid of it. While UV alone would be lethal, it wouldn't penetrate deep into the mold, so I went with an ozone-producing model. Set up is easy - you just plug it in, close the door and press a button on the included remote to set the time. If you dare look, you'll see the light on the device flash for a few seconds to give you time to move away from it, and then the UV light turns on. Once this is done there is a very strong smell of ozone which can linger for days if left unventilated. So I definitely wouldn't use it in a room that doesn't have adequate ventilation. Just leaving the window open at night is enough to get rid of the smell in the room. The main thing is that it works properly. After a 30-minute treatment, the mold is immediately exfoliated by washing with a hose. It's not perfect, but it makes cleaning the tile a lot easier and keeps it clean. I use this lamp a few times a month to keep my bathroom clean and fresh.
