I highly recommend this door. We bought these to replace our 10 year old dog door for two medium sized dogs. We got the XL door because our dogs are now 12 and 13 and we thought a bigger door might make it easier for them to get in and out. The downside of the big door is that the kids (3 and 4) also think it's for them. Installation was quick and easy. The scariest part is the first cut in a brand new 3/4 glass door that we bought just for this purpose. We use a screen door installed mainly for security reasons so we can close the main door when we go out of town and during the winter months to keep out the extreme cold. The gate is triple insulated and has worked well in the summer months but has not yet survived the severe cold winter. This door is significantly quieter when opening and closing than our previous door. The seal is strong enough that the wind cannot open or close it. I chose this door after going to Home Depot to look for a new door. But they're not in stock, they're made to order, so I'll grab the flyer. I went to Lowe's and they only stock insulated dog doors up to a medium size. Menard had a pair of dog doors, but they looked more like flimsy plastic doors. So I went online, read the reviews and ended up buying this door for a lot less including shipping.
