We had to buy a special mouth guard that doesn't bother my son with a dilator but at the same time is small enough for him to talk to her clearly. My son is 9 years old. Revain recommended this case along with the mouthguard. The case is VERY convenient as he slips the mouthguard in every time he puts it on and then attaches the case to his helmet with the included D-ring on the case for storage. . I would recommend this case as it is large and ventilated enough to allow the mouthguard to dry out and prevent it from getting dirty when not in use. When your kids are tossing their helmets and gear around like mine, you don't want their mouthguard just hanging around when they're attached to the helmet.
