ASUS should buy them in bulk and put them in these routers. The thing works great at my temperature, we're 78-82°C all the time. After installation and only one working fan, they barely audibly dropped to 58C!. A temperature drop of 20°C is great and will definitely extend the life of your router. Great product, one of the few that does exactly what it says on the tin. If you have a GT-AC 2900, I recommend buying it. I can't speak for other versions, but I'm willing to bet they're just as good. I removed the filter, really didn't see the point, it would just restrict airflow. Not enough dust to use it. If it gets dusty, just blow it out.
