Review on ๐Ÿ“ธ Optical Endstop Photoelectric Control by MakerHawk by Ricky Habbani

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Used as optical filament end sensor for OctoPi, worked as expected

Worked exactly as expected, although the filament should be deeper in the sensor gap than expected. I didn't find any obstacles except for the last 1mm of space, so it was a bit difficult when I first tested it, but once I found the sweet spot everything was perfect. Easy connection to Raspberry Pi 4 with 5V, ground and GPIO pin. Can also be used with 3.3V without problems, but I used a straight 3-pin connector and wanted to use pins 4, 6 and 8 directly. There were no problems with PLA detection, which some optical sensors I use previously tested could not see.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
